This year (2011) it was the Lairds turn for thanksgiving. I had never actually celebrated a Thanksgiving with the Lairds because 2 years ago we decided to fly out for Eric and Darien's wedding a month and a half later instead. The trip was really short and Aaron and I ended up flying in and out of Baltimore with Eric and Darien into Salt Lake City. So not only did we have loong flights but we also had loooong drives. It was worth it though. Aaron's sister, Nicole, just arrived home from her mission to Japan in September so it was our first time seeing her back.
We flew in on Wednesday, where Nate and Lacey and kids picked us up to drive to IF. We made it just in time for dinner. Thursday was spent with typical Thanksgiving festivities and of course a delicious turkey dinner.
Then, Thursday night, disaster struck. Nate and Lacey and kids brought along a stomach virus and so consequently, everyone ended up getting sick, except Nicole, who was probably still carrying around some Japanese immunity. We had plans to do a family picture and there was also a small baby shower for Eric and Darien's baby. We had to scratch the family picture until the next day and we ended up getting all baby shower attendees' sick also. Oops.
I also got some {early} recognition for graduating! John and Linda had some fun activities planned but we didn't get to do all of them because of the sickness. I was surprised though and I had no idea everyone was singing to me! By Saturday most of us started to feel better, so we also got to visit the Mountain River Ranch, which is becoming a fun tradition. We took wagons up to a cabin where we're served dinner and we get a fun country show.

These are the pics I have...funny how much has changed since these were taken. Two new nieces added and a new brother will marry in in August!!
We left early Sunday morning to catch our flight back to Baltimore and then drive back to Richmond. Sad it was so short, but so glad we were able to make it happen.
