The New Car

So after our experience in NYC at the car show, we learned that the new 2013 version of the Hyundai Santa Fe we were going to get wasn't going to be available until the late fall so we were debating about whether to wait or just get a 2012. We knew waiting until the fall would be tough and since there were only 3 of the new Santa Fes in the world at the time of the car show, we figured the absolute earliest we'd be able to get a car would be October or November. Production hadn't even started on these, so who knew what would actually happen when it came down to it anyway? At this point, Aaron had just been called as the Young Men's President in our branch and was about to start rotations all of the state in May so the need for a second car was becoming much more present.
So the Thursday after we got back from NY, we headed to our nearest Hyundai dealership to see what they had. We had talked to them down to a pretty good deal, but we just weren't ready to commit (the car was black but the interior was tan and we wanted black interior). So we headed to another Hyundai dealership on the southside of town. They had a much bigger and better selection, so we knew we had come to the right place. They were able to offer us the exact same deal on the car we wanted, with the interior we wanted. Aaron's uncle wasn't available that night to help us also qualify for his discount (he works as a manger for Hyundai) so we told them we would wait until the next day. We had not set out to purchase that weekend at all, but somehow we were there and we were about to do it!
On Friday, we arrived at Pearson Hyundai ready to go. Only, Aaron's uncle got locked out of the system for some reason, so we had to come back on Saturday. But, they let us take the car home and "test drive" it until we came back the next day. We signed the paperwork after I got off of work on Saturday and were able to drive the car home as ours!! Though he probably doesn't read this blog, huge props to Uncle Mike who scored us an even more incredible deal than what we had bargained for. Additionally, of course, even more props to my parents who made this whole second car business possible.

Having a second car is like a dream come true - we can just meet up somewhere and Aaron doesn't have to drop me off at work on Saturdays so he can run errands. We've come a long way since our first year of marriage when we shared our 1 car with my brother!

I still can't believe you have made it this far with only one car!! There is no way Ryan and I could have done that.
