Colby and Talyn's Wedding

The week of Colby and Talyn's wedding started with me hanging out in Saratoga Springs with Nate and Lacey. I had a lot of fun chilling with Lacey and my nieces all day! We went to Brave on Monday and we were the only ones in the theater. It was also Delaney's first ever movie theater movie! She did great! Madison was a doll to be around and it was so fun to cuddle with sweet Halle.

On Tuesday, Colby was flying in, so after lunching with Emily at IMC, I picked him up. We drove to Provo where we enjoyed some Sammy's (pie shakes YUM!) and then Talyn met up with us so they could get their marriage license. I ended up going in with them and there were a lot of jokes about plural marriage. After that, I went and checked into the hotel and then met up at the Camps again before Talyn's endowment session at the Timpanogos Temple. It was a very sweet time and I'm glad the Camps let me tag along and made me feel like part of the fam.

My mom flew into town late that night so I went to pick her up and Talyn's aunt Paralee came with me for moral support. Colby came back and met up with us at the hotel. Then, we were hungry at 1am and since there is nowhere in American Fork that is open past 10pm, we ended up at the McDonald's across from UVSC in Orem. My mom ordered a cheeseburger. Yup. Cheeseburger. Kristy Crabtree.

Wednesday we were running around and trying to get things together for the "rehearsal" dinner - picking up flowers, prizes, stuff for the games, etc - last minute errands, and getting tuxes for the men. We also lunched at Mountain West Burrito in Provo - highly recommend. That night while Colby and Talyn did "bridals and groomals," my mom and I went to dinner with her old friend who happened to be in Utah at the same time. We had dinner in SLC at the Copper Onion (SO GOOD) and then afterwards went to see Safety Not Guaranteed. Then it was back to the airport to pick up Dad and Aaron. Everyone was hungry of course so we decided to stop at Sconecutter in Sandy (the one in Orem/Provo has sadly closed). Sconecutter is gross, yet amazing all at the same time. The scones are not like a breakfast or tea scone - it's basically just fried bread. The hot honeybutter with cinnamon scone is literally the best $1.65 you'll ever spend (the price has increased by $.15 in 3 years). It was our go-to late night snack in Provo. So we went there and enjoyed the goodness on our way to the hotel.

Thursday was rehearsal dinner day! We of course had some errands to run and decided to lunch at Communal in Provo and then pick up the rolls and pies for that night. We sent Dad and Aaron to pick up the rest of the food at Pat's BBQ/Whole Foods in SLC while we got ready. We had a fun Texas-themed rehearsal dinner and the brisket from Pat's was divine. Both of my grandpas arrived as well as a few aunties and uncles from Vegas. We enjoyed our dinner and then played a few games. I taught everyone "Deep in the Heart of Texas" and then we divided into groups and we had a competition to see who could perform it the best with the most Texas enthusiasm. Then we also played "Colby and Talyn" trivia.

Friday was wedding day! We met up around 1 for pictures before the sealing and then the sealing was at 4. It was beautiful and the sealer was so adorable and yet very profound. The ring ceremony started at 6 and was performed by my Grandpa Ron, who did our ring ceremony 4 years prior. It was beautiful and touching. Then we had a seated dinner and shared some stories and toasts about the bride and groom. I thought it was really neat that they also presented something to Talyn's cousin and Colby's HS prom date, Heather, for setting them up. After that was the dance party and reception! Nate and Lacey were also there and we had a fun time dancing with everyone! Talyn and Colby left on their honeymoon soon after.

Saturday we had to take Grandpa Larry to catch the bus back up to Idaho in Provo so we had brunch at Communal (lunch is better) and then chilled at the Marriott Center until Grandpa got on the bus. After that we went up to Brighton and hiked to Sunset Peak with Emily. It was a really fun hike and we loved it. That night, we met up with Nate and Lacey and kids and had a picnic in Sugarhouse with Pat's BBQ brisket again. So good. We checked into my parents' hotel in SLC and got ready for our red-eye flight home (gross).
